Registration FAQs

How can I register for WDAFS 2016?

All attendees must register online or on-site. Please visit the Registration page for details or to register online.

Do I have to be an AFS member to register/attend?

Non-members are welcome, but must register under non-member rates. ‘Chapter-Only’ members are considered non-members. You may want to consider joining, as membership confers many other benefits.

I plan to give an oral presentation or poster. Do I still need to register?

Yes. It is standard policy that all attendees, including oral and poster presenters, must register and pay for meeting fees.

How do I qualify for Young Professional status?

You may register at the Young Professional rate if you have graduated within the last 5 years.

I am a student and wish to volunteer to defray registration costs. Do I need to pay for registration?

Yes, everyone must pay registration fees up-front. Early registration for student members is $65. Students can volunteer at the meeting and will be paid $10 per hour up to 4 hours (total $40). Payment will be issued by check on the last day of the meeting, or mailed to those students who did not pick up their check on-site. Can I register multiple attendees at one time?

Yes, up to ten persons may be registered under one Eventbrite transaction. Please take care to assign tickets to the correct attendee.

Is it possible to register for a single day?

Yes. A daily registration is effective only for the day you have designated to attend.

How do I register for Continuing Education, Field Trips, or the Spawning Run?

These options are presented within the registration process. Please be aware of time conflicts which may exist between Continuing Education and Field Trip scheduling.

May I register for additional events after I have already registered for the Annual Meeting?

Yes, you may add (or delete) items by amending your existing order. If you need assistance, please contact us at [email protected]

May I bring a guest?

Yes, but all guests must register. A Guest-badge provides access to all hosted breaks, evening socials, and the banquet. In addition, guests may participate in Field Trips and the Spawning Run, for an extra fee. Fisheries professionals and students may not register as guests.

Can I pay for my registration with a check?

Yes. Alternate payment options are presented at checkout when you register online. Please send your check to Travis Neebling, Western Division Secretary-Treasurer (address below), or you may present your remittance when you pick up your registration materials. To avoid confusion, please include a reference to your Eventbrite Order Number on your check. Checks should be mailed to: Travis Neebling WDAFS Secretary-Treasurer 3030 Energy Lane Casper, WY 82604

Would it be possible to invoice my company/agency for registration costs?

Yes. Purchase Order and invoiced registrations will become available on February 20, 2016. Select “Pay by Invoice” and provide billing information at checkout when you register online. What is the cancellation/refund policy?

Refunds will be issued based on the timing of the cancellation. Registration fees will be refunded in full if cancelled prior to the Early Registration deadline (February 19, 2016). The refund rate will be 50% from February 20 through March 14, 2016. Thereafter, no refunds will be permitted. To avoid loss, we encourage you to find a colleague to attend in your place.

Student FAQs

I am a student and wish to compete for a Best Student Presentation prize. Will I have to give my oral presentation during a specific session?

Yes, all students who wish to have their oral presentation considered for Best Student Presentation must give their presentation during the Student Symposium.

Are there any travel scholarships for students?

There are travel scholarships available through the Western Division. Applications are due January 22. The application can be found at http://goo.gl/forms/xI3TWt6Ln9 .
